It’s fall, and that means time for pumpkin everything! Ditch all the calories in your favorite traditional shakes with this healthy alternative. Great for breakfast or an afternoon treat.
Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake
First things first, you’ve gotta whip up some pumpkin pie spice. This only takes a minute, and I make a big batch, because I make A LOT of pumpkin recipes in the fall. Just save it in an air tight container and it’ll stay good for a long time. I use this recipe for mine. Pumpkin spice recipe.
Once you’ve got your spices all mixed up, you’re ready to blend the shake all together. Just throw your almond milk, or milk of your choosing in. Then your protein powder, pumpkin puree, and spices. I prefer to you Pure Nourish Protein powder because it’s the cleanest shake out there, it’s plain so it blends well, and it’s only 110 calories! Boom. But you can use any plain or maybe even vanilla flavored shake you like. Blend it all together long enough to fully mix the pumpkin puree in. You can add some ice at this point to make it more of a smoothy. And, if you’re using a good clean protein without sugar, you may want to add a couple of drops of stevia. But make sure you’re using the drops. All of the powdered brands I have seen contain additives that you don’t want.
