I confess…I ate like a pig for the past few weeks. I’m bloated, chubby, my face is broken out again, and I have no energy to speak of. TIME FOR A LITTLE DETOX ACTION!
Every once in awhile its nice to help your body clean house. You don’t need to get all crazy with it. You have kidneys. You have a liver (depending on how hard you party for the holidays). These organs are magnificent little cleaner uppers. There are times I like to give them some assistance.
When I Like to Detox
- During weight loss
- After I’ve been particularly bad to my body (vacation perhaps)
- A couple times a year (I prefer New Year and Spring)
Now, because your body has amazing cleaning systems in place, you really only need to add a few easy breezy things to your daily routine. If you want to get all weird and starve yourself or do a colonic…knock yourself out. No judgment here. But it’s quite unnecessary, and I’ll have no part of it!
How to Detox
Number 1 – Stop putting crap in your body
There are the obvious culprits like booze, tobacco, and fast food. But take it a step further and elimate as much of the processed crap as you can. If it comes in a wrapper, put it down.
Good old fashion, totally yummy, and mostly free water. Slam a glass of water upon waking each day. And drink it up…… all day long. It’s really the only beverage I consume when detoxing. Along with organic teas and raw fresh juices.
Sweat it out! A little cardio goes a long way in cleaning out the junk from your body and purging through those pores. Want to ramp it up even more? Try out some hot yoga! I have yet to do this, but it’s on my agenda. I’ll keep you posted. If I stop posting, I died.
There are numerous foods said to be natural detoxifiers. Turmeric, cilantro, almonds, beets, and dandelion tea all come to mind. These all work in different ways. You can spend hours Googling away! Don’t like the way they taste, juice them with things you do like.
Also, the fiber from fruits and veggies will help clean along that GI tract in a much kinder way than laxatives or colon cleanses. So don’t juice everything! Your body NEEDS fiber.
This product is my favorite little detox tool. Not only do these ingredients provide a plethora of cleansing power. They are also powerful antioxidants. A quick scroll through PubMed shows many research studies done on these ingredients on everything from cancer to detoxing.
I like to take this every night on an empty stomach and let it work it’s magic. I take it for a month. Clean as a whistle. (Whatever that means). If you would like to try this fantastic product out, please contact me directly and I’ll give you 30% off!

Detoxing Oils by DoTerra
My dear friend Elizabeth just told me about 2 awesome essential oils by DoTerra that are great for detoxing. While I have not tried these products, I have tried other DoTerra oils and they are always great! I can’t wait to try them out. Here’s what Elizabeth has to say about the products.
Zendocrine Detoxification Blend
Zendocrine essential oil blend is a proprietary blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils of rosemary, cilantro, juniper berry, tangerine, and geranium that have been studied for support of the cleansing organs of the body. The blend is formulated to be used individually or in combination with the Zendocrine botanical extract complex.
Lemon Essential Oil
Another favorite, this essential oil powerhouse is cold-pressed from lemon rinds to preserve its delicate nature and potent properties. Lemon is known as a powerful aromatic, topical, and internal cleanser that can be used to complement many other oils. Diffusing lemon in a room can cleanse the air and uplift mood. Add a drop to water for an uplifting beverage that will calm your stomach and aid in detox.
